Cop Gets Probation For Brutally Beating A Woman

A 250lb off-duty Chicago Police Officer who brutally beat a 125lb female bartender has been given probation. Office Anthony Abbate was facing a prison term of up to 5 years for the attack, which saw him go behind the bar, throw the woman to the ground, beat her, kick her, step on her, and hold her head while he punched her. Instead of prison, Abbate, who is still on the Chicago Police Department, will get 2 years probation.
