Animated Version of Jon Stewart - Jim Cramer Smackdown

Producers at MSNBC were told not to talk about Jon Stewart's smackdown of Jim Cramer last night on the Daily Show, according to TVNewswer.
This came after Jon Stewart criticized Cramer and the entire CNBC network for falsely reporting financial news when "(they) know what's really going on," and criticizing them for playing a part in robbing millions of Americans pension, 401k, and life savings by providing "at worst criminal" financial advice.
Stewart's criticisms must have hit a nerve, because the much ballyhooed showdown between the two cable show hosts wasn't mentioned on any of the NBC networks Friday.
Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough promoted all morning Thursday that Jim Cramer would appear on Friday to discuss his Daily Show appearance, but not only did Cramer not come on Morning Joe today, the Daily Show was never even mentioned the entire show.
Scarborough later posted in the comments section of his show's website:
"No Cramer. Perhaps another example of oversleeping. Guess he had a late night. That is too bad. Producers told he was only talking to us."
That's before the producers decided on Friday that their network wouldn't discuss the subject at all. So Scarborough blames it on Cramer oversleeping or getting drunk.
CNBC and NBC both avoided the subject on Friday after a week of attacking Jon Stewart and pimping their own Jim Cramer on every possible talk show opportunity. The Today Show, which had covered the war of words all week, also suddenly stopped talking about it on Friday.
Even White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs noticed the news blackout, telling reporters, "I'm not surprised that the video of Mr. Cramer's appearance doesn't appear on CNBC's website today."
One would wonder if NBC, CNBC, etc. are worried if they give credence to Stewart's complaints by covering them that their own viewers might start to wonder what the hell they are doing watching - and listening - to such bad advice.
As Jon Stewart said last week, "If I had only listened to CNBC, I'd have a million dollars right now...if I had started with 100 million dollars."
UPDATE: We might have an answer - CNBC and Mad Money's ratings have dropped 10-11% since Jon Stewart nine days ago first reported the shoddy investment advice CNBC and Cramer have been giving. So NBC/CNBC/MSNBC definitely have reason to be afraid to give Stewart's complaints any more airtime. Their viewers are leaving in droves.
UPDATE to the Update: Crooks and Liars adds: "CNBC's Jim Cramer refused to mention his interview with Jon Stewart on Friday's edition of Mad Money.
"A lot of people are talking about what happened," Cramer explained. "I want to be very clear. Be very clear that although I was clearly outside of my safety zone, I have the utmost respect for this person and for the work that they do, no matter -- no matter how uncomfortable it was to be on. So I want you to take a look at this clip from yesterday of Cramer versus Stewart," he announced.
Mad Money then cut to video tape from Cramer's appearance on Martha Stewart's show. Cramer never mentioned or showed any clips of his appearance on The Daily Show."
I didn't expect much of a real showdown from last night's Jon Stewart confrontation with Jim Cramer. I figured Stewart would be apologetic, sprinkle in some humor, and that would be it. It did start that way, and then Stewart got serious and held Cramer's feet to the fire for knowingly reporting lies and continuing to tell people to invest in the stock market and the big financial companies, right up until the crap hit the wall last October.
It was the first time someone in the media nailed the media for refusing to report the truth.
Cramer's weak defense was comical, and he dropped it altogether and started apologizing once Stewart played clips of Cramer admitting breaking the law while running a hedge fun.
The Daily show aired the interview in three parts, split up by commercial breaks. Below is the full unedited interview.
Jon Stewart Jim Cramer Unedited Interview, Part 1:
Mark Sanford, Republican Governor of South Carolina, has changed his mind yet again and will accept the government stimulus package meant for his state. The catch? Sanford will not use the money as directed by President Obama and instead will take $700 million of the package and pay down the state debt. The stimulus package for South Carolina intended the majority of the funds, 81.8%, to go to help schools, including funding schools to make sure they can afford to stay open and not lay off teachers.
Now experts say Sanford's move will mean up to 7,500 teachers in the state will be fired because their schools cannot pay them. It will devastate schools across the state and in turn, further damage the education of millions of children.
This guy is a major league asshole, to borrow a line from Dick Cheney. But it's not just Sanford, other GOP governors are either refusing to accept the much needed stimulus, or intend to use the funds to further their own motives. In each case, the real motive is to damage the country, and the economy, as much as possible, and pass the blame on to President Obama.
Four years from now the GOP will be crying that school systems across the country are in even worse shape than today, and pointing the finger at Obama. We can only hope enough Americans are smart enough to see through it.
How does the GOP even have any political mojo anymore? Their leader looks like Jabba the Hutt and makes as much sense as that blob. A direct quote from Jabba the Limbaugh:
"I want everything he's doing to fail... I want the stimulus package to fail.... I do not want this to succeed."
The GOP has the right to hope Obama's policies fail, that's stupid, but it's politics as usual. However, by refusing to direct federally appropriated funds to areas that desperately need help, the GOP is openly trying to sabotage the country. Where I come from, that's called Treason, and it's about time the Democrats and the Judicial Department start confronting this.

Random Patterns from around the world:
*A chimpanzee in a Swedish zoo has proven animals can be aware of future events and plan for them. A decades long study of Santino, a male chimp, discovered he would carefully search for rocks and build stockpiles of projectiles before the zoo opened each morning, then slung the rocks at visitors in the afternoon. During the season every year the zoo is closed for business Santino didn't search for rocks at all.
*Further proving that animals can indeed plan for the future, President Bush was aware his minions would be required to abide by laws governing their agencies, so he sent out memo's informing his people to ignore the inconvenient laws Bush didn't like and only enforce the ones he favored. This week President Obama has put an end to the mess by informing each agency head they must ignore Bush's signing statements and instead follow the real laws.
*Great line from John Aravosis over at Americablog on why the GOP would argue with Obama if he said the sky were blue:
"We learned over the past eight years that the GOP is more than happy to sacrifice country for party. Everything is ideology with them. And a big depression is a small price to pay for getting their majority back in Congress and their president back in the White House."
*Hoping the economy will rebound quickly? Think again: The five largest U.S. banks are each on the verge of death, with the worst to come. Possible loses just from bogus financial derivatives grew to almost $600 billion for the five banks combined as of December 31st, an increase of 49% in just 90 days. By comparison, those same 5 banks have received $145 billion in taxpayer bailouts, a mere drop in the bucket compared to what might happen.
*Ned Goldreyer's tongue-in-cheek "Recession or Depression?" debate for Huffington Post over the weekend was dead on about economists:
"Economists disagree on what distinguishes a recession from a depression. This is a big reason why no one respects economists. They want us to think of them as scientists, but they demonstrably are not. Real scientists can make accurate predictions based on previous experience...Unlike scientists, no economist has ever accurately predicted anything."
Goldreyer also played Nostradamus:
"Years ago the country experienced what will soon be called the First Great Depression."
*America may be home to the worst financial scandals but Europe has far juicier sex scandals. While being amused reading the BMW Heiress with Nazi Past Blackmailed in Porn Holocaust Scandal, which is a must read, BTW, I learned of another sex scandal involving the head of Britain's Formula 1 Racing personally enacting Nazi sex scenes with hookers. Max Mosley allegedly played a concentration camp prisoner who was abused by five hookers, whom he paid to dress as and impersonate Nazi's, complete with bad German accents.
There are a lot of sick people in this world. It only seems like the majority of them are rich.
