House of Representatives Gives Moment of Silence for a Child Molester

The shit has officially hit the fan...

"The House of Representatives paused for a moment of silence Friday to mark entertainer Michael Jackson's death.

"Lawmakers briefly interrupted a debate on a global warming bill to stand in silence and honor the "King of Pop."

"Rep. Diane Watson of California rose during the debate to suggest the House "pay tribute to the culture that he has left behind, his legacy.""

Jackson's legacy includes numerous allegations of molesting children, other out of court settlements with families of children he allegedly molested, a long history of behavior that is strong evidence of mental illness, and mismanaging his own money so poorly that he reportedly died $400 million in debt.

Yet people everywhere are crying over the dead monster.

Californians should vote Diane Watson out of office for her bullshit today.

Celebrating Wacko Jacko the Unofficial Catholic Priest is Wrong

Michael Jackson, the most famous unofficial Cathlic priest in the world, has died, and his death has instantly turned into a media circus. Fans and celebrities are rushing out their eulogies for the man who not only was accused multiple times of molesting children - but who also paid families to settle molestation charges out of court - this is just too much.

Have you ever never heard someone say, "Father Flanigan molested a lot of kids, but he was a damn good priest!" Or "Father Flanigan raped my child, but the old priest had a voice from heaven!" No. So for all these people to suddenly forget or conveniently pass over Jackson's "dark side" and, and let's be honest, molesting children is not a "dark side" - it's unforgivable criminal behavior. They're missing the entire point. It's not sad that Jackson died, it's sad that he went down a monstrous path.

I would bet the victims of child molesters do not morn the death of their abusers. For society to forget that is inexcusable. Michael Jackson was a living, breathing monster. Who gives a shit if he could sing?

Jury Awards $21 Million To Man Framed For Murder By Cop

Juan Johnson, an alleged gang leader in Chicago, has been awarded $21 million by a federal jury after winning a lawsuit claiming Chicago Police officer Reynaldo Guevara framed Johnson for murder.

The Chicago Sun-Times has more:

"Johnson, a reputed Spanish Cobras leader, filed a lawsuit against former Chicago Police gang crimes specialist Reynaldo Guevara, accusing him of framing him with a 1989 murder. The city also was named in the lawsuit.

"An appeals court tossed out Johnson's conviction. He was retried and acquitted in 2004. At the second trial, a gang member said Guevara directed him to pick Johnson out of a lineup."

So because Officer Guevara couldn't obey the law, an alleged gang leader now has $21 million dollars in his pocket that he can cause mayhem with - and the citizens of Chicago get to foot the bill. Nice work.

No mention in the story if Guevara will face any charges for framing someone for murder. One would think that is illegal.

Cop Gets Probation For Brutally Beating A Woman

A 250lb off-duty Chicago Police Officer who brutally beat a 125lb female bartender has been given probation. Office Anthony Abbate was facing a prison term of up to 5 years for the attack, which saw him go behind the bar, throw the woman to the ground, beat her, kick her, step on her, and hold her head while he punched her. Instead of prison, Abbate, who is still on the Chicago Police Department, will get 2 years probation.

Watch the video and see if Abbate's crime warrants probation, THEN watch as Abbate's friends try to bribe the bartender not to press charges:

Milk, Cheese, and Butter Prices to Double Soon

The Consumerist brings us the wonderful news:

"It's so expensive to produce milk right now — due to low demand and high feed costs — that farmers are being paid to slaughter dairy cows in order to "shift the pain to consumers," says Bloomberg.

The National Milk Producers Federation in Arlington, Virginia, will pay dairies to slaughter 103,000 U.S. cows in coming months, says the article, causing milk futures to skyrocket. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is forecasting butter, cheese, and milk prices will be painful in 2010. Consumers can expect milk prices to double.

Retail butter prices may rise above the record of $3.937 a pound and cheddar cheese may top $5.097 a pound, according to Jerry Dryer, 65, the editor of the industry newsletter Dairy & Food Market Analyst in Delray Beach, Florida.

Experts say that farmers are culling the cows because exports have dropped 26% in the first quarter of 2009, while feed remained expensive.

"No one is making money producing milk," Wells Fargo's Swanson said by telephone from Minneapolis. "The milk price remains well below the total cost of production."

Bloomberg says it can cost as much as $17 to produce $10 worth of milk."

Besides costing the consumer more for the basics, it will also start a chain reaction in the food industry for any product that has cheese, milk, or butter in them. Get ready for higher priced pizzas, cheeseburgers, sandwiches, shakes, etc.
