Sarah Palin Targeted Gabrielle Giffords With Gun Scope

The entire GOP and Tea Party should be ashamed today.

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, along with 17 other people, were shot at a meeting at a grocery store. At least 6 people are dead, and Congresswoman Giffords is in critical condition in surgery as I write.

Sarah Palin is one of the main people to blame for today's tragedy. Her supports will say she played no role in today's murders of at least 6 people. But that's foolishness and lies. When a public figure, and a public political party, repeatedly use gun imagery and words associated with shooting, hunting, and murder, when talking about their opponents, it's a only a matter of time before some idiot not only believes the nonsense but acts on it.

It's no different than if someone yells "fire!" in a crowded place, causing panic and a stampede that injuries and kills people. That person would be held accountable by the law.

But, let's go back a few months. Congresswoman Giffords won a tightly contested race for re-election against Tea Party candidate Jesse Kelly.

Here are some of the ads/events held by Sarah Palin and Jesse Kelly targeting Congresswoman Giffords. Note their use of gun scopes, the words "target", "remove", "shoot," "M16", and an invitation to fire a "fully automatic M16 with Jesse Kelly", while helping to "remove Gabrielle Giffords from office".

Note that Sarah Palin has pulled her websites offline hours after the murders, but the Internet keeps a record of everything.

One of Palin's ads showed the slogan, "We've Diagnosed the Problem...Help Us Prescribe The Solution", with gun scopes on the states with Democrats Palin wanted removed from office, along with blood red colored gun scopes on the states where the targeted Democrats decided to retire. What does that imply?

The Republicans have been encouraging violence for the last few years, and then when it happens, they back away and say they aren't to blame. It's total bullshit and time society stops accepting this behavior.
