Apple Drops iPad to $399 New/$349 Refurbed

The iPad 2 was introduced today and Apple quickly moved to clear out remaining inventory of the original iPad ahead of the March 11th launch.

16 GB Wi-Fi iPads are now starting at $399 new, or $349 refurbished. All 6 models are on sale, at $70-100 discounts, save even more if you buy a refurbished unit.

If you've been sitting on the fence about buying an iPad, or even which tablet to buy, this deal is a no-brainer. The original iPad smokes all competing tablets, and for a limited time, at less than half the price of the Xoom. ($349 vs. $799 + monthly cell contract).

Head over to the Apple Store for the refurbished iPads, and a different page for the new iPads.

The iPad 2 adds dual camera's, a dual core processor, and faster speed, along with being slightly thinner and lighter. The camera is the biggest difference between the two versions. If you can live without the camera, of just can't afford $499 or more, jump on this deal before Apple clears out the remaining inventory of original iPads.

Just a note, I bought my iPad and my iPod Touch refurbished from Apple. You can't tell any difference between factory refurbished units, many parts are replaced with new parts, and they have the same warranty as a new unit, so save a few bucks.
