The Chicago Bulls Do Not Use Google Translate

Since 2009 the Chicago Bulls have worn jerseys that say "Los Bulls" once a year for Hispanic Night, which also includes players being introduced in Spanish and other Hispanic-themed festivities. The latest Hispanic Night was today, when the Bulls defeated the Miami Heat.

Reaching out to different groups is a great idea and smart business. It's a good way to expand a brand while making customers feel welcome.

However, someone with the Bulls and/or NBA doesn't understand Spanish.

"Los Bulls" means "The Bulls", which is fine, except for the fact that it is mixing two languages and makes no sense. "Bull" in Spanish is "Toro", and the plural, "Bulls", is "Toros" not "Bulls". The jersey's should say either "Toros" or "Los Toros".

What the Bulls and NBA are saying is, "we want your money but don't care enough to do anything but a half-assed job at celebrating Hispanic Night".
