Most Useless Product Guarantee Ever

I picked up some Soshine rechargeable batteries from Deal Extreme because they were highly rated. I've used many different brands of rechargeable batteries and haven't found any I would recommend, including the highly touted Sanyo Eneloops.

When the Soshine's arrived today I noticed the product guarantee on the package, so I snapped some pictures.

At face value Soshine's product guarantee sounds great:

"We guarantee that we will repair or replace, at our option, any device damaged by these Soshine Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries..."

Wow, they don't replace the batteries, they will repair or replace any device damaged by the batteries. That's fantastic.

Then notice the following sentence:

"Guarantee void if batteries are charged by user or device."

Do I have to point out that these are rechargeable batteries?

Maybe they come pre-charged, and Soshine can't guarantee how they will behave once a user recharges them in the countless number of battery chargers on the market. Only, they are not pre-charged, as the bottom section of the packaging tells consumers:

"CHARGE BEFORE USE."

 In capitol letters, nonetheless.

So Soshine will repair or replace your device if their dead-as-a-doornail batteries that have never been charged damage your camera, toy, etc.?

That's one hell of a guarantee, Soshine.
